The
Robinson Armament Co. XCR is a multi-caliber, gas piston weapon
system developed by Robinson Armament Co. for U.S. Special Operations Command
(SOCOM) to satisfy the requirements of the SOF Combat Assault Rifle, or SCAR
competition, but was disqualified on a technicality due to late delivery of
blank firing adapters. Robinson Armament continued development and the XCR is
now being offered to law enforcement, the military and general public. Deliveries
of the rifle began in mid-2006. The XCR was displayed to U.S. Army officials
during an invitation-only Industry Day on November 13, 2008. The goal of
the Industry Day was to review current carbine technology prior to writing
formal requirements for a future replacement for the M4 Carbine.
XCR - ECHO 1 replica
The XCR - ECHO 1 airsoft gun is made of metal and highly
durable ABS. The body of the airsoft gun along with the outer barrel, the foldable
stock and parts such as: the trigger, the magazine release, the selector lever are made of metal. The comfortable, contoured pistol grip, the PEQ15
case which holds the battery(the set does not include the battery) and the tactical
grip that increases the maneuverability of the airsoft gun are all made of ABS.
What is also worth to
mention is the very comfortable and folding to the side stock with a rubberised
butt stock, which prevents the airsoft gun from slipping during aiming and
firing. Furthermore,
the top part of the stock equipped with a soft and comfortable pad. All this greatly facilitates operating the gun. Another item worth to note is the mid-cap magazine(130
BBs) with a durable aluminum body.
The XCR – ECHO 1 airsoft gun has a set of RIS rails, on which
we can mount sights, a laser pointer or the tactical hand grip which is included
in the set and the battery case.
The carbine has a working
bolt catch, which, together with fully licensed designations, and an individual
serial number, give the airsoft gun additional realism.
The XCR - ECHO 1 model
allows for the rapid exchange of the barrel. It also has a two-piece gearbox, a
spring guide with bearings and 8mm bearings. Furthermore, the plastic, two-piece hop-up chamber
has a convenient adjustment, which firmly retains the settings. The airsoft gun as a whole provides a high quality
and stable operation with a muzzle velocity approximating 400 FPS.

Propultion
Replicas have spring, electric or gas propultion. Spring models need to
reload after each shot (pull back the lock) to enter the ball into the
chamber. At the same time it pulls spring back, to be able to
give a shot. Electric replicas depends on the battery,
whereby the engine drives the whole gearbox, and a gas models, push
the BB by gas, which loads in magazine (in these replicas ther is
not spring).

Hop-Up
Hop-Uup system is used for overclocking bb during the shot (putting
it in rotation), through which, it extends its flight
path. Acting laws of physics make that bb lift up,
while the gravitational force take it down. Appropriate
adjustment of Hop-Up, will compensate for these two factors, which
result in long and straight flight for longer distance and be greater focus shot (to improve accuracy).
