Walther P-38 Airgun
An airgun replica of a Walther P-38 is pneumatic replica of a characteristic German weapon from the WWII period. It has not only appearance in common with the original, but also high quality and care for every detail. This airgun was made entirely from metal, which significantly increased its durability and reliability and also gave it realistic mass that makes every user feel as if he or she is holding a real firearm.
Walther P-38 airgun is powered by a CO2 capsule with a capacity of 12 grams installed inside the grip after the removal of the magazine and detachment of one of the grip’s side linings. This airgun fires steel 4,5 mm BBs. Muzzle velocity of fired shot is around 125 m/sec, which allows for accurate fire at targets several dozen meters away. Hard, metal BBs can pierce objects such as bottles and other containers filled with liquids and also rip apart fruits in a very spectacular way. This loyal imitation features a slide with blow-back system, which imitates its operation whilst firing. After each shot it moves back and cocks the hammer and a next BB is fed from the magazine. It there are none BBs left inside the magazine, the slide will remain in the rear position, as is the case in live firearm original. This provides unique experience during recreational shooting and allows shooter of various skills to better themselves. An interchangeable magazine with a capacity of 20 BBs, which means that the airgun does not have to be often reloaded, which in turn allows the users to spend optimal time on fun.
Walther P38 features a winged safety, located exactly in the same spot as in the live firearm original. Once it is on it is not possible to pull the trigger and fire a shot. This leads to increased safety for all participants, the airgun’s safety should be turned off only at the moment of aligning the front and rear sights on the target. Pneumatic firearms should be carried with safety on, which reduces the risk of accidental discharge and hitting an undesired target with a BB. An additional feature of this replica is its characteristic disassembly, identical to the process of the original live firearm where we begin from detaching the barrel.
The trigger operates in a single action mode, after cocking the hammer, P38 is ready to fire. In this mode the trigger has to travel a small distance, which positively influences the accuracy of shot because it is more difficult to “jerk” the shot.
Walther P38 in this version can be used not only for recreational shooting, it is also an excellent part of equipment for every historical reconstruction enthusiast. Almost ideal representation of details of the live firearm original makes Walther ideal for any reconstruction environment dedicated to events during WWII. Of course Walther P-38 airgun does not have to be carried in the field, it is equally impressive in a display case of every collector of firearms and equipment from that period. The ability to disassemble the pistol will surely be appreciated by anyone seeking one hundred percent accuracy in terms of construction representation of historical weaponry.
