VSS Vintorez sniper rifle replica

The long-awaited Russian VSS Vintorez sniper rifle replica from King Arms is finally available. An object of desire for many enthusiasts of Russian weaponry, STALKER universe and more. It was made with great attention to details and keeping the dimensions, weight and structural details correct to those of the original firearm.

Highest quality materials were used in the production process of the airsoft Vintorez. The integral, one-piece silencer was made from 6061 aluminum using CNC technology. The receiver cover charging handle were made from steel. Other metal parts, including lower receiver, fire and safety selector and trigger guard were made from homogenous zinc and aluminum alloy. The front grip, just like in the real firearm, was made from black polymer with grainy surface.

When taken out from the box the first thing that catches the eye is the stock made from natural painted wood – it gives the replica an unique look. The stock ends with comfortable pad made from thick rubber. The replica is partially dissembled like real firearm. The receiver cover, silencer and stock can be dismantled by pressing the securing bolts. On the left side of the receiver there is a SWD type side mounting rail allowing installation of original optical scopes (PSO-1 scope for instance).

Safety lever is located on the right side of the receiver and resembles that of an AK rifle. Fire selector switch, just like in original firearm, is located inside the trigger guard, just behind the trigger. The accumulator can be stored inside the silencer, the manufacturer recommends the use of three-part LiPo accumulator (a special connector is included in the set) but other stick type accumulators can be used without a problem. Thanks to aforementioned securing bolt button the silencer dismantling can be done without any tools in just few seconds.

VSS Vintorez is equipped with reliable v.3 gearbox with 7mm bearings, which is ready for tuning and produces muzzle velocity of ~400 FPS straightly out of the box. This combined with long 420mm inner barrel makes it a perfect weapon for medium or even long range engagements. Inside there is an air-tight pneumatic system with high quality hop-up chamber and bucking.

The replica comes with a 380bb's polymer hi-cap magazine which is a copy of the 30 rounds real magazine.

The set does not include battery nor a charger.

The set includes:

-user manual

-cleaning rod

-battery connector

Velocity [FPS]:

It is the spped of bb, while its leaving the innerbarrel of replica. This speed is measured in FPS (Feet Per Second).

1 FPS = 0,3 m/s

1 J = 99 m/s

1 J = 326,7 FPS

Propulsion / Powered by:
Gearbox version:

Indications v2, v3, v6 does not mean the level of advance, but only shape of gearbox skeleton which was used and selected by the manufacturer depending on the capabilities of the body of the replica. For example, a models of the M4/M16 family, MP5, have a v2 gearbox, while the AK family have gearbox v3.

v3 Gearbox
Type of fire:
Single, auto
Diameter of bearings in GB [mm]:
Lenght [mm]:

The length of the replca is measured between the two most distant points of each other. Different models have several of these values, because of its design allows to increase or decrease it length (eg.  folding stock or extended flash hider).

Inner barrel length [mm]:
Weight [g]:

This is a value that includes the weight of the replica, magazine and other accessories that are include in set without a battery, charger, cleaning rod, etc., etc.

Magazine type:
Hi-Cap magazine
Magazine capacity [pcs]:

Hop-Up system is used for overclocking bb during the shot (putting it in rotation), through which, it extends its flight path. Acting laws of physics make that bb lift up, while the gravitational force take it down. Appropriate adjustment of Hop-Up, will compensate for these two factors, which result in long and straight flight for longer distance and be greater focus shot (to improve accuracy).

Yes, adjustable
Blow Back:

Blow back is a simulation system of the cocking lever - it imitates the work of it as the equivalent sharp. This system raises the realism and adds a lot more experience during shooting.

Battery included:

NiCd rechargeable battery is characterized by high efficiency current-carrying capacity, but there are disruptive effect on memory. Should be unloaded and loaded in the full cycle, ie, it is recommended to fully discharge, and after unloading must charge the battery immediately without leaving it for a long time in a discharged state.
NiMH batteries have a higher self-discharge over time and shorten the life - on the other hand, they earn about 30% more capacity.

Good quality VSS Vintorez cannot recommend highly enough. Actually prefer to it to my old LCT As-Val. Much lighter and easier to use. Upper receiver looks lower to hopefully Posp scope will fit when it arrives. Battery fitting easier than on LCT As-Val no worries of cutting wires unscrewing silencer, only need to press a button and off it comes. Stock has a very nice finish.

Greetings to everyone! I'd like to provide a more in-depth review for this gun, because there are a few aspects of it that need to be known before purchase. I used the stock assembly so far, with an 1450 mAH 11,1 V LiPo and the standard Hi-Cap mag. For those of you, who are interested in the flaws of the weapon, you may disregard the first 4 paragraphs. Now for the review: First of all, I'd like to talk about the box and contents. It comes in a large box, with plenty of foam padding which keeps it safe during transportation. All the parts mentioned in the kit have their own place and there is no assembly required other than the battery and magazine. The exterior is of good quality, the wooden stock has a beatuful finish and the polymer front grip (of which I was afraid before unboxing due to it being plastic) is comfortable and does not feel cheap at all. The only notable flaw of the exterior is that the paint on some of the metal parts can get scratched easily. Personal note: I would not count this as a downside personally, because I'm a fan of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and I bought the weapon for authenticity, which is actually improved by the slightly visible wear of the weapon. Handling: The weapon feels light, the balance is good, due to the heavier wood stock which counter-balances the metal barrel nicely. The front grip - even though small - is very comfortable and the sights are good as well. The only negative aspact is that the grip of the stock has a square shape which might be uncomfortable for people with small hands. Personal note: shorter people might also find the stock too long, which would make holding the rifle to your shoulder for longer periods uncomfortable. Firing Test: The gun clocks in at 120-130 mps with the standard configuration using .20 bbs. The iron sights are accurate, and the zeroing helps with adjusting for distance nicely. After proper configuration of the hopup the gun was very accurate at medium ranges (20-30m) and still pretty good at long range, but if you plan on using it as a DMR you will need a scope in order to fire accurately. The rate of fire on automatic fire mode is impressive, emptying out 30 bbs in a manner of seconds. The gun is not a silenced weapon, however. The gearbox is pretty loud, especially when firing full auto, but this is expected of an AEG. And here we end the pleasent part of the review. I'd like to elaborate why I'd disassembled the weapon in the first place: Using the stock configuration I charged up the battery and took her out for a spin. My first impressions of the gun were very positive, and I thought that I would leave a perfect 5 star review here. This, however, lasted about half an hour and less than an entire HiCap. Suddenly my gun stopped firing and I could only hear the motor spinning when the trigger was pulled. At first I'd thought that the motor slid down in the stock and the drive gear wasn't connecting. This, however proved to be false. The next part is about disassembly and interior components. Disassembly: It was clear that something was amiss in the gearbox. Getting to it, however necessited the complete disassembly of the weapon. The interior build is of good quality, with hex and phillips screws keeping everything in place. Some of the buttons/releases are spring loaded, which requires attention when releaving the tension. The internal barrel and hopup chamber: The stock barrel is of decent quanlity, no visible flaws and is in fact inside a second outer barrel situated within the silencer. The sotck hopup chamber is made of plastic, but seems to be of decent quality. I've had no issues with it so far. The disassembly of the body is a bit tricky with many pins and screws, but there are plenty of helpful disassembly guides available online. And now for the gearbox: This is where thing start to take a turn for the worse. Upon taking the gearbox apart I'd learned that even though the weapon itself is of good quality, the same does not apply to the gearbox. There are 2 notable problems with the gearbox: the spring guide, piston head and tappet plate and nozzle are all made of plastic and the gear fit isn't fine-tuned. This resulted in the gears chewing up the teeth of the piston head, the main spring breaking the spring guide and the nozzle cracking and losing pressure, all within the first 100 shots fired. These are all easy to fix problems for someone with experience in modding airsoft weapons, but for a beginner it's a nightmare. If you know what you are doing than I'd suggest changing the nozzle, spring guide and piston head as soon as possible, in addition to adjusting the angle of engagement on the piston head. This will prolong the life of your gearbox a great deal. As for the service provided by Gunfire.pl: The forwarder was GLS/UPS depending on client preference, each providing free shipping. The shipment arrived within 5 woking days and was packed correspondingly, with plenty of foam in the outer box to protect the products. Nothing negative to say here. Conclusion: The King Arms VSS convinces with its build quality and value. You get a solidly crafted AEG with a lot of power and precision right out of the box. The quality of the internals could be a tad better, however, but it is an easy and not too costly fix, if the need arises. Ratings: Exterior - 5/5 Handling - 4/5 Interior - 3/5 OVERALL - 4/5
